Mandarin Course Description:
Mandarin Module 1 & 2: Suitable for students who have little or no knowledge of Mandarin Chinese. In this course, students will learn about the Chinese pronunciation system, essential vocabulary, sentence structures and grammar. At the end of the course, students will be able to introduce themselves and others, tell their names, nationalities, jobs, families, describe time and locations, and talk about daily life etc. The focus is on conversational skills.
Mandarin Module 3 & 4: Students will learn more vocabulary, sentence structures and improve their conversational skills. The content will cover time/date, birthday, location, color, asking for directions, shopping, ordering food, making phone calls, travel, asking for /offering help etc.
Module 5 and 6: Students will continue to improve their speaking and listening skills. The content will cover the weather, activities, intentions and plans, health and body, compliments and well- wishing, and review of what they have learned in the previous courses.
Intermediate: When students have completed the Beginner Modules 1-6, they go on to learn how to describe shopping, seeing the doctor, sport and leisure activities, interests and hobbies, physical features, characters, making appointments, social life, news, passing on messages, the seasons, festivals, hotels, searching for information online, making reservations, vacations, health, problem- solving etc. Contact us for assessment if you studied Mandarin before and would like to discuss which option suits you best.
